Nobel peace prize for Al Gore? Puleease!

What does making a phony movie about global warming have to do with promoting world peace? Someone had to really stretch to come up with an explanation. They said that his movie and touring is laying the groundwork for changes that we’re all going to have to make. Therefore he is preventing the future riots that will be caused when global warming catastrophes happen. Puleease! How insulting. I just don’t think there is much that man can do to cause or prevent global warming.

Mr Gore has pointed to such things as the Dec 2004 Indonesian earthquake and tsunami in the Indian Ocean as evidence that man has done something to cause the earth to react so violently. He also said that the 2005 hurricane season was caused by man-made global warming. He has shown pictures of retreating polar ice and glaciers as additional evidence of man-made damages. The same for melting snows on Mount Kilimanjaro. Oh come on! Drowning polar bears, Lake Chad drying up, coral reef bleaching, rising sea levels – he’s got it all in there but none of it man made or causing global warming.

In the words of President Hinckley on Oct 2005, “How portentous are the words of revelation found in the 88th section of the Doctrine and Covenants concerning the calamities that should befall after the testimonies of the elders. The Lord says: “For after your testimony cometh the testimony of earthquakes, that shall cause groanings in the midst of her, and men shall fall upon the ground and shall not be able to stand.

“And also cometh the testimony of the voice of thunderings, and the voice of lightnings, and the voice of tempests, and the voice of the waves of the sea heaving themselves beyond their bounds. “And all things shall be in commotion; and surely, men’s hearts shall fail them; for fear shall come upon all people” (D&C 88:89–91). How interesting are descriptions of the tsunami and the recent hurricanes in terms of the language of this revelation, which says, “The voice of the waves of the sea heaving themselves beyond their bounds.”

I think Mr Gore has parlayed his past political position into that of a spokesman of the loony left. He has become something of a prophet of a new religion for those who believe in this stuff. I’m sorry Mr Gore but I prefer to think that God is in charge of things like this. Man has very little, if anything to do with what Mr Gore is claiming are evidences of man-made global warming. Do you think that maybe God is just trying to get our attention? Here’s more from the Boston Globe on how Al Gore is talking nonsense.
