In The Flesh…

gethsemane.jpgContinuing on from the last post, I pray for the Spirit to help me share some things in a way that will be plain.  Some things I share may be known by some of you, and to others of you these ideas may sound like foolishness and far-fetched.  Either way for the first time I have been told by the Spirit to write and share everything that I will, so whether received or not, here we go…

To begin there are a few things that I have to share in order to make sense of the big picture.  The first is what I have learned about the atonement.  We are told so often that we cannot comprehend that Supreme act, and I agree, but hopefully this might bring a little more understanding for those willing to receive it.  (And by that I mean receive it by confirmation from the Holy Ghost)

19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.

26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

– John 17:19-26

For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.

  • 2 Corinthians 1:5

19 For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

20 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.

– Philippians 1:19-20

There are a lot of different scriptures that could be referenced but one more will suffice.

I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

– John 15:1-8

ChristInTheGardenOne night I had a very powerful experience.   The Lord showed me and told me plainly that during the atonement, Jesus Christ gave his whole soul for us.  This sounds simple right?  The thing is that God gave me understanding concerning this.  We know He suffered for our sins and somehow it was given to Him to understand us perfectly.  He bore our griefs and sorrows, our pains and sicknesses both physically and spiritually.  What if I told you that He not only “did” that, but is doing it right now?

Not only was Christ’s body torn, but his very soul was.  It was divided and given to every single person who belongs to the family of God on this earth.   A portion of Christ, even His very essence and spirit, was placed upon each of us…  A seed of His perfection was planted in each of us….  This portion of Him lives and feels and understands EVERYTHING that we are going through, because He is going through it with us!  Right now.

Jesus Christ was willing to give Everything he had been given of the Father.  The substance of spirit that He had attained, all His glory, He gave to each of us, so that we could be redeemed.  By doing this, and experiencing everything we all go through on this earth, He became the perfect Judge, the perfect Mediator, and because of the perfection of His soul, our own spirits can be enlightened and redeemed by HIS righteousness and perfection.  I know this might oppose everything you have been taught, but I know it is true.  When Jesus said “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?”, it is often said that Christ had to experience the complete loss of the spirit.  This is true, but I have also been told the very last bit of the Light that God had given Him had been imparted to the last person that it was given to.  Christ knew that it was finished, and gave up the Ghost.

As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

– Acts 13:2

They “ministered to the Lord”?  Have you ministered to Him?  A true fast is when we feed the Spirit of Jesus Christ within us, that portion of Him that He has blessed us with, and purge the body and our appetites so His Spirit can grow within us.

BreadAndWineThis truth clarifies so many things in the scriptures, including the sacrament.  The bread and wine are distributed to the disciples of Christ, which we know represent His body and blood, given to us by the atonement.  Now think of this.  Have you ever wondered why during the sacrament prayers why we ask the Father to “bless and sanctify THE BREAD”, and “bless and sanctify THE WINE to the souls…”  Earlier in life I wondered why we didn’t pray to bless and sanctify THE SOULS of those who partake of the bread and wine….

Now it is clear.  The bread and wine represent the portion of Christ that has been given to each of us, and each time we partake of the sacrament worthily, that portion of Christ within us (bread and wine which is ingested and becomes one with us) sanctifies us and grows a little bit more.

Ok so that was a long explanation of just one principle.  The next principle pertains to the Spirit of the Lord, or the Spirit of God.  Granted the scriptures reference “the spirit” in many ways and some terms can be used interchangeably, so I am not claiming this to be an absolute rule in the scriptures, but the “Spirit” has taught me that the Spirit of the Lord is greater than the Holy Ghost.

When Abinadi received the Spirit of the Lord the evil priests could not lay hands upon him, and “…his face shone with exceeding luster, even as Moses’…” – Mosiah 13:5-6

NephiAndBrothersWhen the Spirit of God was upon Nephi, his brothers could not touch him lest they should wither and die, and his brothers went from mocking him and refusing to help him build a boat, to literally bowing down to the earth to worship him.  Nephi said that the power was so great that it his frame had no strength.  He could have commanded the water to be earth, and it would have been done if God desired… 1 Nephi 17:47-55

Samuel the Lamanite obtained this Spirit on the wall, Ammon could see the thoughts of the King and could not be slain, people have been “conveyed away” by this Spirit, and the list goes on and on and on.

Why am I sharing all of these things?  After all, this post was supposed to be about the Savior manifesting Himself unto us in the flesh.  Some of you no doubt have started to put things together.  When the brother of Jared saw the Lord, he was told by the God of the earth that he was “redeemed from the fall.” – Ether 3:13

Moroni in his sermon on charity tells us to pray with all of the energy of our hearts that “when he shall appear we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is; that we may have this hope; that we may be purified even as he is pure.” – Moroni 7:48

Paul taught that we now “see through a glass (mirror looking at ourselves) darkly, but then face to face, now we know in part, but when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.” 1 Cor 13:12

When Nephi said “in the flesh,” it did not just mean we will see the Savior while we are mortal, or see Him in His flesh with our eyes, He meant that Christ would manifest Himself both by his appearance, and within OUR OWN flesh.

“….I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.”

How many times have we heard the question, “Why do we get baptized in the name of all three?”  Why not just in the name of Christ?  (Christ does own all three of those names). What I am sharing right now is that we can be baptized by the Holy Ghost, and we can be baptized by the Spirit of Jesus Christ. Our flesh can become sanctified line upon line until His very Spirit can abide in us, in our flesh.  This is all over the scriptures.  This is redemption. This is when we literally “take the name of Christ upon us”.

King Benjamin in his Sermon, while the Spirit of the Lord rested upon him, gave us a name and said that we WOULD BE CALLED by that name.  The name was none other than Jesus Christ, the God of this earth. King Benjamin was not lying or being cute. God will literally call you by the name of Jesus Christ. Oh how this changes our view on doing “all things in the name of Christ.” Did you know that in the true order of prayer we pray literally “in the name of Jesus to the Father?” In the true order of prayer Jesus is praying through us to His Father.

GethsemaneRemember the Nephites who prayed to Jesus in 3 Nephi 19:18 AFTER they had received the Holy Ghost?  Then Jesus went a little way from them and prayed to the Father and during that prayer said “Father, thou hast given them the Holy Ghost because they believe in me; and thou seest that they believe in me because thou hearest them, and they pray unto me; and they pray unto me BECAUSE I AM WITH THEM!” and then He prayed that “I may be in them as thou, Father, art in me, that we may be one.”

There are so many things that we could discuss further. I challenge any readers to pray about this, think on it when you study the scriptures.  I know it is true. I also know that when Christ appear to men in the flesh that they are redeemed.  This is transfiguration, if this lasts, (which it will for all who remain during the millennium) this is translation.

The 144,000 will receive the name of Jesus Christ, they will be sealed unto God, and overcome the elements of the world through our great Redeemer. This will happen soon! There are many living today, men and women, who will be the firstfruits of God and enter His presence, and then minister to others. I know it. Jesus Christ is the Might of the mighty, the Strength of the strong, the glory of us all.

Now back to the scripture In John 15. Christ taught that He was the vine and we are the branches. He taught that all of God’s children were the branches, but that those who did not bear fruit and abide in the vine, would eventually be cast off. The Spirit will not always strive with man. The time of judgment is near. Even now the Lord is withdrawing the spirit (even the portion of Himself that He gave for us) from the wicked. That portion is being given to those who love and trust in the Lord. You have probably felt it.

As the Spirit of Christ is withdrawn from men, it also gives the adversary power to enter in. Evil spirits that have been held at bay will take complete control of the bodies of those who have rejected the Spirit of the Lord. Soon the world will be entirely polarized. I know the Lord is preparing each of us. God bless us all with the Spirit of the Lord, the Spirit of Adonai, even the Spirit of Jesus Christ.

In the next post I will go into what is entailed when one is SENT by God.

P.S. On a lighter note, don’t you think a song like this would be cool to hear in church?

Can you help me understand the logic here? Are you saying the spirit of Jesus was divided up? Isn’t the essence,… the light of truth his spirit? And His soul… wouldn’t that be His spirit and body? Was this done after his resurrection? (He was still walking and talking after the garden experience) And how could He appear if He was divided out? How can we see Him outside ourselves ‘in the flesh’ if He is in a divided state? Is the spirit of Jesus different from the spirit of Christ? If so, is the spirit of Christ an actual ‘person/personage’. You used “glory” too, so what is the difference?

These questions are the only things causing me confusion at the moment, but otherwise I think I’m tracking. I’m not the smartest guy around and I’ll have to re-read a few times, but I appreciate your post.

      Lukewarm

Those are great questions. # 1. My understanding is that the atonement was not done until Jesus said “it is finished”, and then He gave up the Ghost.
      # 2. Remember in the garden that an angel came an strengthened Him? I will get into that next post. Also this is the beauty of it all. Jesus said He was going to the Father. I will get into all of this but after Jesus gave all and died, He went unto the Father who baptized Him with His Spirit! He had proven His position and finished the preparations so He could become one with the Father (again) then He had the power of resurrection for us all. Let’s call it the spiritual trickle down effect worlds without end. I have to run into work but I hope that helps.
Oh and in the Book of Mormon and bible soul is used differently than the doctrine and covenants said. Paul even spoke as if the soul, spirit, and body were all different… Thank you for those questions.

Wow so is this why the Lord (Christ) said “it is expedient for you (us) that I go unto the Father”…. I have wondered exactly why.

” 35 And now I go unto the Father, because it is expedient that I should go unto the Father for your sakes.”

I had written a self write (as thats how I learn) about a few things the Lord showed me two days ago 29th. I knew there was something there. I couldn’t pin point it. I asked the Lord to show me further light and knowledge. The next day I got this post in the email, wich I usually ignore but felt to read this one.

What amazes me most is that hte very scriptures I used (like 3-4 of them) you posted in this post. Thanks you for following the spirit to teach me. This is knew so I am going to seek further light and try to understand how it works and how its “true” for me. But I feel this is that missing piece I coudln’t pin point. There is probably many more.

“For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. (2 Corinthians 5:1) ”

My thoughts were “an house not made with hands”…
        “a building of God”….

We are told the Kingdom of God is within us.
We are told we must be baptized to enter the kingdom of God.
We are told the Holy Ghost is within us (to abide in us)…
We are told the Spirit of God is within us… (to abide in us)…
We are told the to seek the face of the lord that we may “posses our souls”
We are told a soul is a body+sprit…
We are told as you quoted, when we see him we will be like Him…
We are told in a mirror (glass) we will see Him in us… (because we are like him)
We are told we will “take his countenance” upon us as we are changed “glory to glory” or into his “image”.

This is the short version. But I was starting to see how its all connected, what “baptism” is really doing. It seems these thoughts you have shared really open that up even more.

    2. Luke Warm,

According to my understanding, Jesus the Christ is not a divided being. He has the shape of a man. I know this by personal experience. No need to believe on the words of a man. You’ll understand this when you have your experiences with Him. You will have many. That’s what I feel. Of course they may be for blessing or cursing; the choice is truly up to you.

I learned, or rather it is my understanding by interpretation of what I have seen in spiritual memory, that Jesus personifies this righteous good spiritual substance and pattern so much that he could be said to “own” it, or represent it perfectly. I don’t like the word own because it implies selfish control–that’s what we have the most experience with in this world. Interesting how we have to be so careful of our language…

Anyway. So Christ is the perfect representation of this spirit. This spirit “fills the immensity of space.” He is not divided. He simply is the steward of this good righteous mass of spiritual, moving, living matter.

Our bodies change as we grow more obedient to spiritual laws. Our flesh becomes pure (or is destroyed and replaced with pure flesh). This flesh is called His, because “we are purified, even as He is pure.”

Let me know what you think and if this helps. In the end, honestly, the best thing to do is to get the revelation and experiences yourself. Then everything talked about in scriptures make sense. Hopefully I would too.

P.S. My gravatar profile photo looks like it is celebrating Halloween! What a scary vampire.

      1. Minority of One

        Victor

I used to have the same understanding. I did not mean to imply that Christ did not have a resurrected body or would not appear accordingly. I hope that is not what you took from this. Please talk this through with me. I think we might be very closer in our understanding than you think.
In doctrine and covenants 93:33-35 it is written that “man is spirit” and that both the elements (physical body) and man are tabernacles, even TEMPLES. Both our body and our spirit are tabernacles. It also teaches that our tabernacles can be “destroyed”.
But it says in d and c that spirit is eternal and cannot be made or destroyed. This is how we have always existed in some form. What shapes who we are as individuals is how much of this light or “spirit”we have. As we receive more light we gain more attributes of godliness. Jesus taught that “if the light that is in you be darkness, how great is that darkness”. This is what separates “good” from “evil” is whether someone is light or dark and sanctification entails receiving more of this substance we call light.
I understand the teaching that Christs light is in all things and through all things etc., but Christ himself said that some people are full of darkness. So his light is not equally distributed through all things. If it was then all would be equally “good” or “evil”. All would be sanctified.
Do you think God could operate without glory or intelligence? If so I would love to know how. If God cannot operate without it than it becomes clear that the glory is actually part of what God is.

      2. My thought while reading this post was, I don’t know if this is factually true, but it is a very useful paradigm–the idea that I need to nurture the portion of Christ’s spirit within me. Like the creation narrative we have in the scriptures and temple. I’m skeptical it actually happened the way it’s written, but it doesn’t matter to me, because it’s a useful teaching tool and I learn a lot by studying it.

And this paradigm also makes sense within the contradiction that is the sacrament–the bread representing Christ is broken and dispersed, and in taking one of those fragments, we somehow are invited to become one in Christ, who somehow is still unbroken, whole, and perfect. There’s a beautiful chapter in Corinthians somewhere on this exact topic.

  2. I understand the “fracturing” of our own spirit, so this makes total sense. The portion of the Spirit being withdrawn from those who reject Him is a bit terrifying for those of us who have to still be here and go through all of this. I had not quite thought if it in those terms. Immediately after finishing your post, I was in tears and found myself praying “for ANOTHER a portion of His Spirit to be given me” in a way I had not conceived. The song at the end was prefect for today, Angels Among Demons will be out if full tonite. As for us, we will be at a movie with our 10 yr. old so she won’t be out in the mess!

  3. I don’t know if it is true, but the idea came to me one day that when Jesus was suffering the atonement, all time and space came together within him and he literally walked with us through all of our trials and experienced them with us.

  4. I was thinking of the parable of the unleavened bread as I was reading this. Your explanation does answer many questions, and opens up possibilities and knowledge that begs for confirmation. It seems right, it tastes right.

I like to apply the “taste” test to the kinds of information revealed here, which is a little bit like wine tasting (so I’m told). Pour the wine, let it sit for bit. Then smell the aroma of the wine and take a small taste in the mouth and swish it around in the mouth before swallowing. After swallowing, you have to allow all the affects of the senses (Taste, smell, texture, and before and after tastes) combine to produce the full affect. It does involve patience, and there is an element of time involved in proofing.

The Lord, in many cases, does not answer right away when we ask. We have to put some skin in the game. How important is it to you to know the truth? For me the answer here in this blog seems well worth the effort.

  5. I thought something else might help. Just a simple question. What are we? Despite the different ideas of what a “soul” is I think it is semantics. In the doctrine and covenants it states that both our spirit and body are “temples”.
What we truly are is glory. Or “intelligence”. This is the substance of what we are. It can be called “energy”, or “consciousness”, or “spirit”. God without glory would be nothing. An empty lifeless vessel. Yes we are the temple of God! God is light. No doubt readers have felt this substance flow into them when they connect with God.
Parley p Pratt taught in A Key to the Science of Theology that even electricity is spiritual matter, but it is not refined. Our spirits need to be refined and glorified until they resonate with Christ.
This is done by baptisms of spirit, higher and higher glory forever. Thanks for sharing everyone I felt the Spirit reading your comments. It really is happening and no need to fear or worry! We will see miracles and Gods power to save exercised for His sheep. He is our Protection and Fortress.

  6. This is a remarkable post. What you have written is true, the Lord has told me as much. You have answered questions about myself and Christ I didn’t even know I had!
    Thank you.
Also, Tim, thank you for allowing inspired teachers to reach out to the audience your blog has generated.

  7. Thanks for the post and the comments. I feel the Spirit as I read. Especially that it is a good thing to pray for another portion of Gods Spirit…. some scriptures come to mind as I think about this post and hopefully they relate. The one that says ”

    John 1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

6 ¶There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Also thinking of the scriptures that say in as much as you’ve done it unto the least of these…

I have some questions that I’ve been pondering and praying about and id love to hear some testimonies… when the scriptures talk about the Word, or the seed or the Name of Christ, is it all talking about the same thing?

Someone in a different post talked about an old hebrew belief that the name of some carried their very essence… so therefore if you’re baptized in a name are you literally immersed in the very essence?

    1. A repeat of my comment for the sacrament post related to taking His NAME upon us:

“38 O ye pollutions, ye hypocrites, ye teachers, who sell yourselves for that which will canker, why have ye polluted the holy church of God? [bold] Why are ye ashamed to take upon you the name of Christ? [/bold] Why do ye not think that greater is the value of an endless happiness than that misery which never dies—because of the praise of the world?” Mormon 8:38.

We can be baptized and take the sacrament yet still be ashamed to take upon us the name of Christ. Mormon laments that this “[pollutes] the holy church of God.”

Daymon Smith in his last volume of the Cultural History addresses the NAME of Jesus Christ (one of the last chapters). I’m still trying to figure it out. However, this quote from Daymon might be helpful: “For what it’s worth, in the ancient world a ‘name’ was supposed to be connected to the essence of the thing, convey its spirit-being.”

Mormon’s self-directed questions probe into the state of our own spirit-being:

“39 Why do ye adorn yourselves with that which hath no life, and yet suffer the hungry, and the needy, and the naked, and the sick and the afflicted to pass by you, and notice them not?

40 Yea, why do ye build up your secret abominations to get gain, and cause that widows should mourn before the Lord, and also orphans to mourn before the Lord, and also the blood of their fathers and their husbands to cry unto the Lord from the ground, for vengeance upon your heads?

41 Behold, the sword of vengeance hangeth over you; and the time soon cometh that he avengeth the blood of the saints upon you, for he will not suffer their cries any longer.” Mormon 8:39–41.

If our spirit-being was Christ’s, we would not be guilty of Mormon’s admonition.

Denver Snuffer seems to echo this same idea:

“We have looked at the language in The Lectures on Faith. We have looked at Joseph’s sermon in the April 1844 General Conference, and we have looked at D&C section 93. All of them speak of the Father coming to “dwell in Christ.” Every week you hear the sacrament prayers petitioning for God the Eternal Father to send Christ’s Spirit come and dwell in you. See D&C 20: 73–79 The Spirit that came to dwell in Christ was the Spirit of the Father. Christ’s Spirit is to dwell in you. Who’s Spirit dwells in Christ? And so we all become one.”

      Ephriam P. 48.

  8. [quote]Not only was Christ’s body torn, but his very soul was. It was divided and given to every single person who belongs to the family of God on this earth. A portion of Christ, even His very essence and spirit, was placed upon each of us… [/quote]

I hereby name this “The Horcrux Theory of the Atonement.”

  9. I simply know it’s true. The last few months God has prepared me to hear this at the perfect time. I have not yet felt the burning of the Holy Ghost yet confirming this but I feel it in my heart and it makes perfect sense. Jesus taught and lived simply. He spoke plainly. He told His disciples that the bread represented His body as He braked it. It is so simple and yet I don’t think anyone has quite comprehended its meaning.. Until now. I thank my brother for listening to God. This information, if received will change the world. It has already filled my heart with an increased desire to love others and myself more. God’s ways are perfect and I am so grateful.

  10. Minority of One

Thank you all for your comments. Of course I wondered if I would be seeing arguments and objections and cries of blasphemy about this article and yet we all see the Lords hand working and preparing us to receive the greater things promised.

    Nicknack

Hey bro. I believe the seed (in the context you referred to) may mean that portion of Christs spirit given to us, that must be nourished etc. The name of Christ or the title can only be given to one when they have been sanctified to the point of receiving His Spirit completely. The Word is something I want to post on and I think is huge. I think there is so much to learn on that.

Lemuel. Ha ha “the horcrux theory”. I like it. Had to be a Harry potter reference.

  11. What are we? You talked about intelligence. I think this definition is pretty accurate.

    “Gods Many Works Conclusion wrote:
The plural of the word refers to organized spirits. They, organized spirits, have been created and exist as beings. (Abr. 3: 22-23.) Man (or the spirit within him) was organized from “intelligence” which is singular. It is co-eternal with God. It is called “intelligence” and also “light and truth.” (D&C 93: 29.) It is also called “the glory of God.” (D&C 93: 36.) Cleon Skousen supposed that man was made from something else called “intelligences” when, in fact, once intelligence or light and truth is organized into a being and assumes a separate existence it is called “intelligences” which is plural and refers to spirits. Until then, it is only “intelligence” which is singular.”

“Beloved Enos Pg 33 (digital copy) wrote:
This glory, light and truth, or intelligence, is co-equal with God Himself. “Intelligence, or the light of truth, was not created or made, neither indeed can be.” (Id. v. 29.) It is a part of God Himself. He and it are one. By extension, therefore, we are also one with Him.”

    “Beloved Enos wrote:
Joseph does not leave the matter there. He goes on to equate mankind with this same material, this same co-eternal light and truth: “Man was also in the beginning with God. Intelligence, or the light of truth, was not created or made, neither indeed can be.” (Id.) At his core, mankind is part of God. We exist because we are made of the same material from which God’s glory, God’s intelligence, or God’s light and truth are comprised.8”

    “Beloved Enos wrote:
When organized into separate personalities, the intelligence changes from the singular to the plural. With this change comes creation (or organization) and as a result, mankind came into being. Joseph further reveals that in order to exist we had to have the freedom to choose. Without that freedom we would not exist at all. We would still be singular, uncreated and without an existence. “All truth is independent in that sphere in which God has placed it, to act for itself, as all intelligence also; otherwise there is no existence.” (D&C 93: 30, emphasis added.) There is no existence unless we are free (and able) to choose for ourselves.”

    “Beloved Enos wrote:
The intelligence out of which we were created might just as accurately be referred to as the “word” or the “thought” of God.”

“Beloved Enos pg 44 (digital copy) wrote:
God speaks light into existence. Or we might describe it as God imagining or conceiving light into existence. Since we are made of light, or truth, or the glory of God, it would be equally true that He conceives or imagines us into existence. It was both a creative act and an act of faith for God to conceive of us. As the Lectures on Faith put it: “[F]aith is not only the principle of action, but of power also, in all intelligent beings, whether in heaven or on earth. Thus says the author of the epistle to the Hebrews (11: 3): ‘Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.’ By this we understand that the principle of power which existed in the bosom of God, by which the worlds were framed, was faith; and that it is by reason of this principle of power existing in the Deity, that all created things exist; so that all things in heaven, on earth, or under the earth, exist by reason of faith as it existed in HIM. Had it not been for the principle of faith the worlds would never have been framed, neither would man have been formed of the dust. It is the principle by which Jehovah works, and through which he exercises power over all temporal as well as eternal things. Take this principle or attribute – for it is an attribute – from the Deity, and he would cease to exist. Who cannot see that if God framed the worlds by faith, that it is by faith that he exercises power over them, and that faith is the principle of power? And if the principle of power, it must be so in man as well as in the Deity? This is the testimony of all the sacred writers, and the lesson which they have been endeavoring to teach to man.” (Lectures 1: 13–17, emphasis added.) Elsewhere he added: “it is by faith that the Deity works.” (Lectures 7: 1.)

It is absolutely essential to the process of “creation” or “conceiving” for God the Father to have a female consort or Mother God.10 If we were the product of only one mind’s thought, or word, or intelligence we could never act independently of the one mind. Everything about the conceived individual would be under the exclusive control of the one mind. Therefore such an individual would be wholly predictable and subordinate in all of its acts to the single mind. Only when two are jointly conceiving an individual does it become possible for the individual conceived to be independent of control. So long as both have input, neither one can fully control what the personality will choose to do. The life’s choices, the story-line, the events and decisions of any given personality cannot be fully controlled by either the Father or the Mother when both are allowed to create, conceive or organize the personality. Intelligences require parents in the plural; otherwise they could not acquire independence of thought.

When the Father and Mother hold the thought (or word, or intelligence) long enough,11 with faith in the existence of this new creation, while neither one is fully controlling the individual intelligence, then existence becomes possible. The person has everything necessary to exist in her own right. It becomes possible for the intelligence to make her own choice. Only when the intelligence accepts that right and makes a choice freely, without control by the Father and Mother, does the intelligence begin to exist. “All truth is independent in that sphere in which God has placed it, to act for itself, as all intelligence also; otherwise there is no existence.” (D&C 93: 30.) It was an act of faith by God the Father and His consort to cause the intelligence to be conceived or organized. But it requires an act of faith on the part of the intelligence to exercise her own free will to accept its creation. Unless she is free to act by making her own choice and actually does so, there is no existence.”

Christ led, we followed. He is correctly called our Father, even before we were born. He was the Word of God incarnate. What the Father said was possible, Christ proved by being the living example. We owe everything to our Heavenly Parents for conceiving us in the first place. But we also owe everything to the Son, who proved by faith that we could all exist. This made possible our own faith and our own independent consciousness.

  12. Fascinating Minority of One! I am a student of the Kabbalah in the most basic of understanding. Essentially, I believe, the Kabbalah is the temple and is one of the mysteries of G-d. Kabbalah has been with mankind since Adam. It existed for thousands of years as verbal knowledge. It was written down, thru revelatory means, in the form of the Zohar 2,000 years ago with Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai and his son.

Kabbalah teaches us about Creation and Adam and Eve and our journey back to G-d. Sound familiar? What you describe is very similar to:
Shevirat Ha-Kelim- creation when G-d poured infinite divine light into finite vessels that were unable to contain this light. Shattering of the vessels created the creation of the universe, where a spark of the divine light is embedded in every aspect of G-d’s creation. Our task, as human beings, is to release the Divine, that resides in all of us and all of G-d’s creations, through good deeds, righteous living and spiritual acts.
Tikkun- this is the act of repairing the world. This is the total and all of our purpose of existence. Our how-to-guide is found in the holy scriptures.

Thank you. I believe much of the Kabbalah and was planning to reference it in the future. I felt the Spirit during your comment and see you have felt the Spirit about much of what you say. I have studied the gnostic gospels and Hinduism and Buddhism and have felt the spirit about different aspects of them all. I believe a lot of scriptures teach the same things using different language and ideas and it all has been corrupted over time. Joseph smith was a student of the Kabbalah : ). Thanks for your comment!

  13. Kind of interesting, but felt that dull thud when something isn’t just exactly right on spot. When I’m reading Denver Snuffer the spirit confirms every word, and I compare that to this. This post (and the comments) leaves me feeling empty in spite of all the emotion expressed, but I do appreciate that others may have been thrilled, to each his own, in sacred agency. My personal experience with the Kabbalah is that is a cesspool of filthy occult counterfeit knowledge, which draws one deeper and deeper into the core, and it is impossible to get out alive spiritually without the direct intervention of Christ. I say this firsthand. Any intelligent, inquisitive soul who willingly enters into the Kabbalah for fun, or curiosity, or because it “looks interesting” and other people are talking about it is in great spiritual peril. Whenever I hear anyone cite to the Kabbalah to make an impressive point, or otherwise triangulate spiritual truths with a tie-in to that source I’m heading in the other direction as fast as my feet can take me. I encourage others, in accountability for what I have experienced, and in deep gratitude to Jesus Christ who rescued me from the spider’s lair of the Kabbalah, to do the same. With love, and all sincerity.

Thanks for your comment. Just a couple of thoughts. First off, I agree that if the Kabbalah is trusted alone, it is not enough. First and foremost our faith must be in Christ. He is the foundation. If not then everything else is filth. I am glad you have found Christ.
Right now every book of written word has been corrupted and philosophies of men and yes, at times, even devils have been incorporated.
As far as this “dull thud” feeling I understand and I have experienced it. In fact, any time I used to read ANYTHING outside of the LDS church doctrine I felt that and even at times a feeling of darkness or oppression.
It took me a long time to learn that (at times) this was the adversary attempting to stop me from learning new truths. Many have described that feeling when reading anything from Denver Snuffer.
From my own personal experience I have learned that the ONLY way that I can know if something is true or false is by the burning of the Spirit. If the Spirit tells me something is false, it is by the same marvelous light and glory as when the Spirit tells me something is true.
The Spirit never reveals anything by feelings of darkness or ickiness. This feeling you described (in my opinion) is the spirit that “teacheth not a man to pray”. But like you said to each his own. I do not love anyone less or judge them to be less for their beliefs. It was just a thought and I appreciate you speaking up and commenting. God bless

      1. Your comment is an important tenet of following the Spirit, or what I call “receiving the First Comforter.” Thank you for putting this openly in print.

      2. I feel that I should mention I have been given many warnings where I felt dark, confused, wrong, isolated, lonely, angry, sad, gloomy, and so forth. These were false warnings from Satan but I didn’t know it at first. I trusted in the light of Christ inside me and did what I felt was good. From this process I’ve learned that only peaceful suggestions turned out to be real warnings from the Spirit. I also learned they needed attention with zero hesitation. What Minority said about this is true.

  14. Minority of One

Actually I want to clarify my last comment. There are many people in other religions and belief systems that feel the Spirit from time to time. Many of these people are not Christian.
My sincere belief though is that they will at some point learn that the Spirit they feel is from Christ. He is willing to speak and elevate anyone that acts in faith and has a sincere desire to come to know truth and who is seeking greater light. It doesn’t matter what belief system they have.
If anyone is interested I highly recommend reading some quotes and teachings of Ghandi. I have felt the Spirit reading from him and I know he had the spirit with him as well despite not being a Christian per se. I am perplexed how someone could think the quotes from the Kabbalah that were shared above by multiple commenters could be considered a “cesspool of filth”…
In fact I am going to read the whole of the Kabbalah so I can judge for myself with prayer. Most of what I have read was in segments and had a lot of comments and interpretations from men. Until I read it all I won’t declare to know how much is true or not. Perhaps it is all true.
A common problem when people read “sacred” texts is that they feel the spirit during a portion of it and then they assume to know that the whole of it must be true. Same can be said about talks or speeches. Lynne I would be curious to know if you meant that you felt the burning flowing power of the Holy Ghost during ALL of snuffers reading or was it more a sense of peace and light that was unaccompanied by power. I have never read any book in the flesh that I have felt the spirit of revelation in every word. I am hoping the sealed portion is like that! Moroni said it was overpowering to read.

    1. I agree with you Minority. Whether it be Joseph Smith or Denver Snuffer or Thomas Monson or even the standard works I haven’t felt the spirit in every word of theirs. Not even Joseph is God, no prophet in the LDS standard works were either, and when people quote them I think we tend to forget that. Especially in our ability to interpret what they say. People even misunderstood Jesus.

The only time I’ve felt right and filled perfectly is when receiving pure light directly from the Spirit while contemplating scripture or receiving visions. That is why one can deny the witness of the son but not of the spirit, and not be called perdition.

I apologize if I am very open about sharing spiritual experiences on this page and it bothers some people. It might. I don’t know for sure. But I HAVE to share what has happened to me. Not for worldly fame or glory. I don’t think I’ve ever received enough for preaching the Word to be worth it in worldly eyes.

Hey victor thanks for your comments I responded to your first comment up top. I would love to hear back and I love hearing spiritual experiences. Please share when you feel impressed.

    2. The problem I have found with reading the pure Zohar ( besides the hebrew) is that it comes in a set that is about $400. Of the few commentaries I have read, I really like Kabbalah for Dummies by Arthur Kurzweill. Each one has a different “feeling” to it depending on interpretation or what have you. There is so much information in the Zohar and much of it is symbolic. What I said before, I only have a fundamental knowledge, but I see similarities in the Temple, Tree of Life, Jacobs Ladder, Big Bang Theory ( theory not the TV show)/Creation, Plan of Salvation, Godhead etc…..

  15. For the past few weeks I have been pondering and asking why the apostles would not be given the Holy Ghost until after Christs ressurrection. It has not made sense to me at all, but this would explain some of it. Except Christ also offered this experience to the Israelites at the mount of transfiguration and Adam also received it to a degree that He was changed, so maybe this isn’t the full explanation. OR maybe it is that the Father did this job up until Christ finished His work. Do you have any insight on this?

I was wondering when someone would bring this question up. Glad to see you are pondering on it. Two thoughts. One, my understanding is that if a person steps outside of this realm, or dimension (whatever you want to call it), then they can step back in to this realm in whatever time they need to. There is always time, but once you have been raised to a higher realm the time is different. This has actually been explained in many near death experiences and I liked someone’s comment above about all time and space coming together in the atonement. This brings more clarity to the “meridian of time” comment. Also there is something else significant about the Holy Ghost and why it never seemed to be as operational before Christ came and “rent the veil”, that I will get into. I think I will post today because of all of the great questions. Thanks for thinking on it.
