Let’s Get the Hell Out of Us!

Jesus heals the man with unclean spirits named Legion Luke 8:29-30Well I said at an earlier time that I wouldn’t write anymore but now I am making myself a liar as I feel impressed to write. That is the problem with us making any oaths or promises. We often do not have the power to keep them and then need to repent. From some comments I have seen, I realize that some people are concerned that I am trying to get “followers.” I just want to state unequivocally that I have no authority other than whatever truth has been given to me. I have not seen Jesus Christ in the flesh although I hope to soon! I know many people have had similar experiences to me and I do not think that visions or the like mean as much as some people might think. Even a vision can deceive the recipient and many others if the interpretation is not given by the Spirit.

That is why I never really pay attention to people’s interpretations of their near death experiences or visions unless I have it confirmed that their interpretation is correct. Life is tricky and God teaches people different truths in different ways, tailored to their understanding and individual progression. So anything I have shared is how God has taught me. If you feel it is incorrect or not suitable then by all means take what you think is useful or whatever the Spirit prompts you to receive and set the rest aside. I do not think anyone is condemned for disbelieving anyone’s message or experience right now. This is still a preparatory time before the storm hits.

Today I am going to try to pack in a lot of things that I have learned and if you have considered me deluded before then today’s post will probably only add to that consideration.

But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. Or else how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house. – Matt 29:28-29

These words of Jesus were spoken after other’s accused Him of casting devils out by the power of Beelzebub. Like most verses in scripture there is so much information here. First it is imperative that in order for the kingdom of God to come again on the earth, the power to cast out devils by the Spirit of God must be here, and in order for someone to do that he or she must first have bound the strong man of the house.

In these verses the house spoken of is the body of flesh that we are all given in mortality, and the devils must completely be cast out of that house or tabernacle in order to be bound. Now I know people are thinking that the power to cast out devils is here on the earth, but there are actually two types of “possessions” that exist, and we only usually talk about one of them. One is when an evil spirit is given complete control of the mind of an individual, and thus is given complete control of the body as well. I have seen these types of possessions a couple of times and they are not pretty. Through faith these are cast out from time to time.  This power to cast these suckers out has been around for ages and I am sure many readers could tell stories of this type of thing, but there is another kind of possession that people rarely talk about, and perhaps have never considered. It is the possession that has a grip on every person on the planet right now (save for heavenly visitors).

And he shall cast out devils, or the evil spirits which dwell in the hearts of the children of men. Mosiah 3:6

So to be absolutely clear on what I am saying, you can call it lower energy, evil spirits, devils, whatever you want, but they actually reside in our flesh and our spirits war against them to gain the power over the flesh. I have talked quite a bit in previous posts about the change that can and must come upon our bodies. This can’t happen until all this evil is cast out first. You could call it cleansing the inner vessel, or preparing the temple for the Lord to come to in all of His glory.

And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils. Luke 8:2

Like many corruptions and twisted things that have been said about Mary Magdalene, people often read this and think less of her. Anyone who had seven devils in them must have had something wrong with them right? Wrong! This was the highest form of complement! I am seeking for all seven devils to be cast out of my flesh! I would sure love to not have to deal with evil spirits or infirmities. This meant Mary had been blessed with the very thing that we must all be seeking. Her body had been changed and filled with the Spirit of the Lord.

In many traditions people have still retained the idea of the “the seven evils of the flesh”. These often go by different names but they are summed up as pride, envy, gluttony, lust, anger, greed, and sloth. In some traditions each of these has a different devil attached with it. We don’t need to go into all of that, but as each of us progress grace for grace, we will encounter and confront different evil spirits along the way that must be cast out by faith. Just as there are different orders to spirits of God, and angelic beings, there are also different orders of evil spirits. The scriptures list quite a few of them.

Often as we progress we will encounter periods of darkness, powerful forces of heaviness and oppression, and many different encounters with evil. If any of you have experienced SLEEP PARALYSIS you may begin to understand these experiences better. I would suggest looking up sleep paralysis if you haven’t heard of it. Some people who have experienced things like this actually feel guilty afterwards and wonder if they are being punished for something. These things will happen! As the Spirit of God expands within us, cleansing layer by layer of our flesh until it breaks through with all of its’ glory, evil spirits will be warring to hang on and cling to our flesh and remain the “strongman” mentioned earlier. If we are ever to have the power over the elements for more than glimpses at a time, the first elements to be won are the elements of our own body.

It is interesting in the Zohar an old legend exists where Elijah learned seven names of power to overcome the demons of women. Reminds us of the power of names and the “Eternal Words” that are promised to be given in the last days. I believe that if one prophet or prophetess gains a fullness of glory and grace, even to the renewing of his/her body, they will be able to then cast evil spirits out of the hearts of the children of men. They will have obtained the Word, and each command and teaching will be filled with power to cast out evil.

JesusCastingOutDevilsJesus said though that if evil spirits are cast out of a person, and then those people are not filled then with the spirit of God, the evil spirit will grab seven stronger evil spirits and return to possess the body from before. (Luke 11:26) This teaching is so awesome and I believe totally misunderstood!

In the times of great seers, and of course in the time of Jesus, they had this gift to cast out the seven evil spirits from people.  Those people who were changed and filled with the Spirit of God, (another interesting study would be the seven spirits of God) were given power so the evil spirits could no longer return to the body of the one who has been completely sanctified by the power of Christ.

So where do these evil spirits go after being cast out of the disciples of Christ?  Well the power of the word of Christ also cast out the devils that were within the Pharisees and those who wouldn’t hear as well, but the Pharisees did not want to have anything to do with Christ’s spirit.  So the seven evil spirit cast out of the followers of Christ go find other evil spirits that have been cast out of the wicked and say “let’s go possess that person who rejected the voice of God”, even after God cast the evil spirits out of him/her, and then the person becomes even more wicked as they are possessed by more evil than they had in the first place! Thus as person after person is cleansed in the coming days, the evil spirits will fill the wicked more and more and a greater polarization will occur. Then we will see the powers of darkness manifest as well with their evil and falsehoods. Wo unto those who reject the spirit of God!

16 Behold, my soul delighteth in the things of the Lord; and my heart pondereth continually upon the things which I have seen and heard. 17 Nevertheless, notwithstanding the great goodness of the Lord, in showing me his great and marvelous works, my heart exclaimeth: O wretched man that I am! Yea, my heart sorroweth because of my flesh; my soul grieveth because of mine iniquities. 18 I am encompassed about, because of the temptations and the sins which do so easily beset me. 19 And when I desire to rejoice, my heart groaneth because of my sins; nevertheless, I know in whom I have trusted. 20 My God hath been my support; he hath led me through mine afflictions in the wilderness; and he hath preserved me upon the waters of the great deep. 21 He hath filled me with his love, even unto the consuming of my flesh. (see 1 Nephi 17:47-55, perhaps Nephi’s first experience with being filled with the Spirit of the Lord, or the Spirit of God)

22 He hath confounded mine enemies, unto the causing of them to quake before me. 23 Behold, he hath heard my cry by day, and he hath given me knowledge by visions in the night-time. 24 And by day have I waxed bold in mighty prayer before him; yea, my voice have I sent up on high; and angels came down and ministered unto me. 25 And upon the wings of his Spirit hath my body been carried away upon exceedingly high mountains. And mine eyes have beheld great things, yea, even too great for man; therefore I was bidden that I should not write them. 26 O then, if I have seen so great things, if the Lord in his condescension unto the children of men hath visited men in so much mercy, why should my heart weep and my soul linger in the valley of sorrow, and my flesh waste away, and my strength slacken, because of mine afflictions? 27 And why should I yield to sin, because of my flesh? Yea, why should I give way to temptations, that the evil one have place in my heart to destroy my peace and afflict my soul? Why am I angry because of mine enemy?

28 Awake, my soul! No longer droop in sin. Rejoice, O my heart, and give place no more for the enemy of my soul. 29 Do not anger again because of mine enemies. Do not slacken my strength because of mine afflictions. 30 Rejoice, O my heart, and cry unto the Lord, and say: O Lord, I will praise thee forever; yea, my soul will rejoice in thee, my God, and the rock of my salvation. 31 O Lord, wilt thou redeem my soul? Wilt thou deliver me out of the hands of mine enemies? Wilt thou make me that I may shake at the appearance of sin? 32 May the gates of hell be shut continually before me, because that my heart is broken and my spirit is contrite! O Lord, wilt thou not shut the gates of thy righteousness before me, that I may walk in the path of the low valley, that I may be strict in the plain road!

33 O Lord, wilt thou encircle me around in the robe of thy righteousness! O Lord, wilt thou make a way for mine escape before mine enemies! Wilt thou make my path straight before me! Wilt thou not place a stumbling block in my way—but that thou wouldst clear my way before me, and hedge not up my way, but the ways of mine enemy. 34 O Lord, I have trusted in thee, and I will trust in thee forever. I will not put my trust in the arm of flesh; for I know that cursed is he that putteth his trust in the arm of flesh. Yea, cursed is he that putteth his trust in man or maketh flesh his arm. 35 Yea, I know that God will give liberally to him that asketh. Yea, my God will give me, if I ask not amiss; therefore I will lift up my voice unto thee; yea, I will cry unto thee, my God, the rock of my righteousness. Behold, my voice shall forever ascend up unto thee, my rock and mine everlasting God. Amen. (2 Ne 4:16-35)

How beautiful in this lamentation of Nephi.  Can we now see what Nephi was asking for?  He had experienced the power of the Spirit of the Lord, and he wanted it permanently!  He wanted his soul redeemed just as the brother of Jared’s was when he saw Jesus Christ in the flesh. (Ether 3:13)

I have talked a lot about this in subsequent posts, but I wanted to talk a little bit about the “robe of righteousness” that Nephi mentioned. I have learned that right now every mortal person (except for perhaps in cases where someone might live without a veil), has a “robe” or covering over them. This acts as a veil over our minds and our eyes. It not only is a veil of forgetfulness but it also serves as a protection for us right now from more evil spirits from getting in (for the most part). “Enmity” is a good word for it. At some point as the Spirit of Christ grows within each of us, if the Lord and us are ready to impart a fullness, there will be a changing of this robe, to be clothed with a heavenly robe. These are also called garments. I would suggest doing a study of this. “Holy garments,” “robes of righteousness,” “clothed with light,” “mantle,” are phrases that come to mind. Not to mention all of those who receive white or shining robes or garments either in this life or the next.

These new garments no longer serve to keep evil out, but actually serve a two-fold purpose in my opinion.  One is so that the elements of our body will no longer be corrupted, and the other is to actually shield everyone else from our glory. Remember the case of Noah and his sons when Ham “discovered his nakedness.” I believe what was going on is Ham wanted to see his drunken father in his glory and knew that he could when his father was passed out in a drunken state. Then his two brothers walked in backward and covered their father back up with his garments, because they knew they shouldn’t look upon his glory without permission from God. If those who were changed did not have such a covering, they would walk around shining like Stephen and Abinidi and Moses did while the Spirit of God rested heavily upon them.

Of course many people in history have seen Jesus Christ in the flesh, and for whatever reason God did not want their transfiguration to remain for more than a short time.  My understanding is that in the coming dispensation, all who remain will be changed and receive these robes. John the revelator saw thousands upon thousands of people clothed in white.

It seems in the scriptures that at different times, when the fullness of the gospel was upon the earth, people (women in particular) were blessed with the gift of making these holy garments.  I would imagine that there is some type of ordinance or blessing involved in this, and it seems that the garments were always made of linen. (Acts 9, Rev 19:8)

Also remember the story of the woman touching the hem of Jesus’ garment and being healed, was this a “garment of light?” In my opinion all Jesus had to do on the mount of transfiguration is take off this outer robe or garment and his glory would be revealed to Peter, James, and John.

The other wonderful thing that seems to happen to people when this change is wrought upon them is they may be commanded to either eat what the Lord provides, or that their food will be sanctified as to not corrupt the elements of the body again. Manna is called “angels food” in the scriptures. Just before Elijah fasted for forty days an angel brought him food that gave him nourishment to endure the long fast.  Once when the disciples wondered why they didn’t see Jesus eat, He said that He had “meat to eat, that you know not of.” I know people usually say this is not a literal statement, but I would have to disagree.

I know I am jumping all over the place but I want to end this post with some more thoughts on the sacrament, wherein the wine and bread are blessed and sanctified if the ordinance is done correctly.  All of this leads up to the redemption of the body, wherein it is changed to a state of holiness.  Remember the line in the sacrament where it says “to the souls of all those who partake of it”.  This typically is understood that all those different people who partake of the sacrament will be blessed accordingly.  I believe this understanding is correct, but I wanted to throw out an idea that might cause us to think a little deeper.

Most scientists would agree (although there has never been a consensus) that a human body contains TRILLIONS of cells.  I know this might sound like a silly question, but does each cell have a soul?  Seriously think about it. Cells move around within us with independence, working in harmony with each other to make up tissues, which make up this organism we call the human body. Are they not all partaking of the wine and bread that is blessed and sanctified during the sacrament?  Inside of these cells you have lysosomes, mitochondria, ribosomes and more that seem to be working as individual creatures to keep that individual cell alive.  There is no doubt we could go smaller and smaller. Do these little guys have souls?

Now think of our bodies, and how they were formed from the material of this earth.  If our bodies are redeemed by God, then a part of the earth is literally redeemed with it, and perhaps trillions of organisms that live within this body are redeemed and overcome decay and death.  Can we really fathom the marvelous work of redemption? In the day of Enoch so many people received this redemption of the body that the power of their spirits (really the Spirit of God) lifted a whole portion of the earth with all of their buildings, animals, plants etc with it.

In our day the work of redemption will be so great that the Spirit of God that rests upon those remaining will lift the whole earth!  All things must be prepared in order for us, and the earth to not only be able to withstand, but also to be in complete harmony with the glory of Jesus Christ, who will walk among us and lead His people.  What a marvelous time to be alive!  What a terrible day for those who will reject the Spirit of God, and must be cast out for their own good.  I know the day is soon approaching.

I really wanted to cover more in this post but perhaps I will write more if Tim will allow it.  I have enjoyed Tim’s writing as well as Log’s, and hope that nothing I write will spread contention.  God bless us all with greater light, and a greater portion of His spirit. – Nate

  1. Nate, you have a habit of writing about things that I recently have been pondering or have put on a shelf in times past. This idea of different spirits being part of us, even down to the trillions of cells, has been one of these.

I’ll go a little deeper. Have you heard of Brownian motion? When we get down to the smallest of particles we can detect, they all move about different directions on a tiny scale and we can’t seem to find what causes that. I am a firm believer that this is the spirit in that matter making decisions because of agency. I couldn’t tell you where I heard of this idea so can’t give proper citation but it seems and feels plausible enough and fits in the gospel as I understand it.

Thanks as always. And good luck.
    Victor

  2. MAGNIFICENT!!! I’m so glad you repented and followed the impression to write on the blog again. I hunger for MORE that the Lord would allow you to share…you fill my SOUL with resonating truth 🙂

  3. Glad you posted again. I am not sure about the tiny cell stuff as that seems kind of Sidney Rigdon (I think it was him) “atomism intelligence” theory. However I think there are some very true principles about cast off our self, spirits, etc…

I noticed you talked about a specific name that gives God power. There is an egyptian legend (maybe this is where you first learned it) of the Ra that goes like this.

    http://www.sacred-texts.com/egy/ael/ael13.htm

“Now the Majesty of Ra was the creator of heaven and earth, of gods, men, and cattle, of fire, and the breath of life; and he ruled over gods and men. And Isis saw his might, the might that reached over heaven and earth, before which all gods and men bowed; and she longed in her heart for that power, that thereby she should be greater than the gods and have dominion over men.

There was but one way to obtain that power. By the knowledge of his own name did Ra rule, and none but himself knew that secret name. Whosoever could learn the secret, to that one—god or man—would belong the dominion over all the world, and even Ra himself must be in subjection. Jealously did Ra guard his secret, and kept it ever in his breast, lest it should be taken from him, and his power diminished.”

It is believed if you know this name God must obey you. I can see why only few receive such a “Word” or sure name or w/e else it could be. Satan tried to overthrow God thus he was strepted of his power only retaining 1/3 of it as the angels in heaven performed a ritual involving a sceptre/knife.

I know one way to prevent spirits from re-entering is you must cast off into the Lords presence. If you do that, than hell won’t be able to take notice. Also I find shielding (spiritual protection) helps a lot. I think its very similar to getting the “holy spirit” to enter us.

Anyways great post. I like the way you think.

    1. Thank you I have never heard of the Sidney rigdon thing or what you quoted. I definitely believe in the power of words though.
I wanted to add some other stuff but thought the post was getting long. I think naaman being baptized 7 times had some cool symbolism. Leprosy is really only a little worse from our bodies in their current state of decay and corruption.
Also I think being baptized in living waters can be thought of as cleaning the filth and evil from our body, and then the sacrament is symbolic of filling that “new bottle” with the Spirit of God.
Thanks you always make me think more on these subjects.
Also I do know the key with any kind of attack like sleep paralysis or if we are awake is to not fear. Fear seems to give them power (see Moses).
Then of course faith to cast them out. Some of the most powerful spiritual experiences I have had were directly before or after these attacks.

      1. I am fairly new here, and have taken a reading trip through many of the postings and articles on Tim’s blog site. It seems like there are some who are in the church and others who have been told to leave the church. Both groups are writing from their unique perspectives. In the Bible, it reads that the spirits of the devil rested in the hearts of many of the people in Israel. Is it possible that beguiling spirits can reside in our hearts abiding somewhat harmoniously with our own spirits? Is not the spirit of pride and envy in many of the members and non members hearts? When we can have a portion of the Spirit of God, Can we have a portion of the spirit of Satan, the father of lies?

    2. There is a book out called The Biology of Belief, by Bruce Lipton. They have determined that each cell has an intelligence and can change. Our DNA can actually change. He is not too far off.

  4. Victor and Sharon

Both of your comments got me thinking. I have not heard of the Brownian motion I will have to check it out!
One thing that has been impressed upon my soul is the beauty of entanglement.
If an electron has been “entangled” with another electron. You can separate them over any distance and if you act upon one electron, the other will simultaneously react in an equal manner.
So if the soul of Jesus Christ is entangled with our own, ours will react and be lifted as His is.
Sharon’s comment got me thinking of edification and how it really works. We feel the movement of truth within us as the spirit of God moves in us both. Of course none of us mortals can do anything but we can feel God doing a mighty work that is lifting His sheep.

    1. What I find interesting for me is that as I have learned a few things in the last several months….I do NOT feel movement or emotion, physical or mental, when I receive an impression of communication from the Spirit. I’m not 100% sure what to make of it other than this is a re-learning process to unhinge the “emotional” responses that I most likely would confuse with a TRUE impression???? I’m not sure I am making sense here, as I’m not in a position to actually share any comparing experiences (bad sentence structure there too)…I can only term the lack of emotion as a simple “knowing” of what and where the impression has come and it has a decently strong non-emotional sense of undeniability. SO, to go along with the edification bit, there are things I read and I think I can term it as a D&C referenced gift of believing truth, even if I don’t have a 100% knowledge of its truth….ugh! That sounds just weird! All in all, it is just “there” and I can’t safely deny the truth, though there is still room to reject it….but I generally put some things on a shelf until I can sufficiently “figure it out”…..enough babbling, that’s the best i can do to explain myself in my spiritual toddling.

      1. That is ok. I am convinced that people feel truth “feel” is a word choice that I don’t know if it is right.
If you feel that something is from God I would follow it and continually ask for more light and more of the “knowing”. Like I said I think God knows how to deal with each of us differently and if we feel the enlargement of our souls and the enlightenment of our minds that “must needs be a good thing”. It will always be to our mind and heart though I would have to believe.
Thanks for sharing. Never let anyone (including me) dissuade you from those moments of light when you know a communication from God is taking place.

      2. it you think about it, the Spirit is called a STILL small voice. Emotion is energy in motion. That is not STILL. My understanding is that if you are in emotion, it is because of what YOU think or feel, not what God thinks or feels. If we get out of emotion and out of our own ideas then we are able to receive answers to ALL our questions!!!

If we will get clean of all of our own emotions and ideas (thoughts about how something should look or be– Judgment) then just as it says in MORONI 10:3-5 we will receive the truth of all things. It’s the power that we are promised. Pure intent means pure mind — pure because it only wants ONE thing — the will of God. Intent is about the mind.

Sincere Heart is that we are out of emotions where the heart rules. Heart is about the feelings — emotions. We sincerely only want ONE thing — GOD’s will. We get out of fear, hurt, anger, DESIRE, everything that is from US. If we do not then we risk having the answer we get be from us, instead of from God. If we have an opinion we will see through that opinion instead of through God’s eyes.

These two things are the KEYS to the promises of MORONI 10:3-5. To know the truth of ALL things. We think it is just words that mean the same thing repeated, but it is much more than that!!! OH if we only understood HOW to apply the GOSPEL of Jesus Christ we would all be ZION, or well on our way!!!

        1. Kp

I do not have time at the moment to go into the scriptures but I know exactly what the voice of the Holy Ghost is.
I had never experienced the Holy Ghost until I was 19 years old though I thought I had a powerful testimony and thought I had experienced the spirit countless times.
Every person I know who has been baptized by fire explains it almost just like lorenzo snow did. He claimed a power started at his head and moved through him from his head down to his toes.
Fire is a good description it is like the flames flickering through you. I agree it has nothing to do with emotion. It transcends every human sense or experience.
Others have described it as a spiritual fluid moving down their spine. Brigham young said the spirit of prophecy was like having warm milk poured into him.
In scriptures it talks about a voice of many waters, or rushing wind. Yes we are still and others may have no idea even right by us if the Holy Ghost is upon us.
The scriptures speak often about the spirit being poured out upon us.
I have seen miracles worked by this power. I have seen people converted to Christ in an instant whereas only a moment before they were openly doubting.
Every miracle I have witnessed, every healing, every true prophecy, every angelic visitation or vision, was ALWAYS accompanied by this power.
If I remember right (and there is a good chance my memory fails), the voice of The Lord being described as a STILL small voice was only in the Old Testament with Elijah.
It has been referred to way more often as a voice of power and fire and piercing and consuming.
I at one point thought the Holy Ghost spoke to me when I was still and serene, and I listened to my inner self and spoke answers to my prayers. I thought it was the voice of God and I wasn’t producing that voice by myself. I was at peace and joyful and felt light.
I know so many people think this is the Holy Ghost. There is much more I promise.
Yet, every time we feel the light from God we must nourish it and continue as it swells and our soul is enlarged and our minds are enlightened.
Eventually the fruit of pure revelation will come. The Holy Ghost gives unmistakable knowledge. If we have to ever wonder if we just received pure revelation then we didn’t. We may have been enlightened or inspired but that is not the same thing.

      3. Sharon,
CS Lewis has some interesting observations in his book “A Grief Observed”. Observations about grief/fear in the loss of his wife and his questions and journey with God in the process. His observation in Chapter 4 about an encounter with her essence is interesting. The following quote is a small part of his thinking and musing on his experience.

“I had never in any mood imagined the dead as being so—well, so business-like. Yet there was an extreme and cheerful intimacy. An intimacy that had not passed through the senses or the emotions at all.” – CS Lewis.

In chapter 4 he discusses intelligence vs emotion and such. I thought you might find this interesting.

  5. Nate please continue to follow the promptings to post here despite any opposition. I, for one, am grateful for the enlightenment and edification your words bring. Thank you, brother.

  6. MinofOne,

“Conquering Spiritual Evil” by Doug Mendenhall, is a great expose’ of the world of opposition; rather vivid. In discussions and teaching of Mel Fish is enlightening as well. One may ask, why would God expose us to the unknown and then not reveal how to deal with it? It is necessary because we have the Holy Ghost; therefore it is appropo. We have a way out.

The universal matter concept is amazing. In reading the Masters of the Far East, they use the universal matter and create anything from anything. So much we do not know. Thanks for the exposure to the two concepts people avoid. Things are opening up. How do you feel as being the Master of Ceremonies in this introduction? The “energy” segment of people in society really do use the term negative energy. They do not elaborate and believe actual entities exist. It is all positive and negative energy. But Doug’s book does move in specifics and there are entities we mostly have no knowledge of. The whole idea is that when we judge, get angry, incur any negativity, it opens our aura up to be tampered with. That is why the Savior spoke on judgement, anger and reconciliation. It is so meaningful. Thanks for a brilliant piece.

    1. I think that there are actual entities but if people refer to call it lower energy it is not inaccurate and therefore should be respected.
I think we all have felt the heat that goes to our heads when we get angry, or the cloud of jealousy, the passion of lust etc. Obviously physiological things are happening, but spiritual events always cause a physiological response.
I read Tim’s account of being attacked when he was 16 and I know it was true. There is a spirit of fear as well that I believe attacked him. The fear can be irrational but it can be cast out. Often at times we need to cast out the different evil spirits.
No one wants to admit that evil exists within their flesh but it does! We invite it in every time we feed it through evil.
This ties back into the power of fasting and how we can starve these evil spirits and weaken them so they can be cast out.
The last enemy that must be cast out is death. I have come to know this guy as sammael and have had a lot of battles with him and have not been given the faith to overcome him yet. This might just be a name I have attributed to him I don’t know.
One other thought is when the scripture quoted above says that an evil spirit goes and gets seven “stronger” spirits to go back and possess the wicked person’s body.
What has been impressed upon me is that each person’s body was tailer made for each individual. People with older and stronger spirits likely have to deal with being born into a body with stronger evil to war against and overcome by faith. Then when those “stronger” evil spirits are cast out they go join up with weaker ones and soon the wicked person that had 7 spirits will have 49 and it grows worse and worse until you have people possessed with “legion”. Scary thought.
I of course do not feel to be the “master” of anything but I have a lot of cool stuff to look up from everyone’s references.
I believe strongly in shielding. I began naturally doing it some time ago and would often feel to concentrate on each direction around me and give glory to God who is all around me. Sounds weird but I often feel the spirit doing this and I think it has been putting up this “shield” that has been mentioned. I haven’t read Doug’s book yet but it is on my long list.
I think another good thing to be aware of always is that we are not our body. We want our body converted to Christ. This is the goal. Anyway I am rambling but I appreciate everyone’s comments. Beautiful things indeed are happening.

      1. A note: The term of energy to use is lower or higher vibrations. Evil spirits are definitely lower vibration entities. They cannot exist with higher vibration types. That is why happy thoughts, love and service bring our vibration levels up. This is a great topic to alert as many as possible concerning their pathway moving with the changes going on. Our physical bodies are actually changing to get ready for future events.

      2. I have talked a lot about this in subsequent posts, but I wanted to talk a little bit about the “robe of righteousness” that Nephi mentioned.
What do you mean subsequent posts?

        1. Hi mc2dd

I have only written about 5 or 6 other posts here. They are all under the name “Minorityofone”. The first post was titled “seeing The Lord Jesus Christ”. If you are interested I could just email you all of them so you can read them in order and make sense and you won’t have to go through to find them. Shoot me an email at tinsta17@hotmail.com if you would like.

In answer to your question above yes! That is what I was trying to get across is these spirits are in our flesh and must be purged from us completely. Thanks for reading and God bless!

        2. Just for clarification – subsequent means come after or something to follow. You wrote that you wrote in subsequent posts…in your initial article above. That is why I asked, because I didnt know if you believed in time travel…ha ha

        3. In the Premortal life there was a war in Heaven…Satan and billions if not more followed after him. Pride was and is evidently the key element in Satan’s demise as well as those that followed him. It stands to reason that many of us who kept our first estate must have had character flaws or tendencies that needed to be weeded out if you know what I mean. Now throughout the Book of Mormon and D&C and even in the New Testament if you hunt intently, we find that children are born clean and innocent and full of light because of the atonement of Christ. It is because of the traditions of our fathers and the ways of men that “that evil one cometh and taketh away their light” . Now Pride has many forms, many not really evident to us in this mortal life. It takes some soul searching and revealing from The Father to make these weaknesses known so we can repent of them.
Now as far as time travel goes..I am from your future but when you get this, I will be in your past …best to you, mc2

  7. “Today I am going to try to pack in a lot of things that I have learned and if you have considered me deluded before then today’s post will probably only add to that consideration.”

I vote for delusion. Really, this material is very entertaining so I’ll keep reading, but spiritually it’s virtually devoid of truth, in my humble opinion. Perhaps, Tim, you could start another thread with a bit more relevance such as: How many angels can dance on the head of a pin, just to raise the discussion to a little higher plane than it is currently on. Best.

  8. Karl

Thank you. I am happy you were entertained. Which part in particular is not true that you read in this entertaining piece? And please feel free to share how you know it is not true.

  9. May I add to the dialog? First, take a look at this:

    http://lehislibrary.wordpress.com/2011/02/03/cleon-skousens-intelligence-theory-of-atonement/

or it you want it in crude terms, consider this:

    http://www.reddit.com/r/exmormon/comments/1ua89q/the_crazy_that_is_the_cleon_skousens_intelligence/

I used to believe this. I no longer do. Is this apropos to what you have shared, Nate?

Here is why I no longer believe Cleon’s view:

    http://denversnuffer.blogspot.com/2012/08/gods-many-works-conclusion.html

If what I have shared has nothing to do with what you have proposed, then simply ignore it as being off subject.

  10. Tim

I do not fully concur with either. Denver was correct in the usage of the word intelligence. Intelligence = glory, or light and truth as the LDS church uses it.
Clean Skousen is clearly pulling from the book of Abraham and his view can be justified scriptural my if you believe the book of Abraham to be scriptural, but I don’t believe a lot in the book of Abraham. It contradicts the correct usage that Denver suggested.
Denver is not here to defend himself but I agree with most of what he is saying except he repeatedly talked about us receiving these spirits and us choosing to do this or that and never mentioned grace in his position. That is concerning to me because I happen to know that a lot of these spirits cannot be activated within us without grace from without.
Of course God’s light is in and through all things. God’s light is all things to be truthful.
Denver didn’t address this but there is no real separation between elements and intelligence. They are just different forms of spirit, vibrating at different frequencies. If God blesses us so that these elements are raised in frequency to a higher plane, they would be no different than the other spiritual matter.
Our spirits are tabernacles for us, and our bodies are as well.
I believe very strongly for good reason that the soul, spirit, and body are all different things, despite what doctrine and covenants says.

    1. The other thing that people who believe skousens theory us is the whole. “There are things to act, and to be acted upon”, and that man (spirit) and elements inseparably connected make a fulness of joy.
Though I don’t agree with Skousen I don’t see how denver can claim his theory cannot be justified scripturally.

      1. Nate,

May I suggest this is one of those times that a just judge must consider the possibility that someone might be speaking from a position of greater knowledge than the judge himself? And that is, I will grant, an annoying possibility to have to consider. Is Snuffer’s position consistent with the scriptures? Which of the two theories – Snuffer or Skousen – best explains the evidence we have, and which produces testable predictions?

  11. Both could be argued scripturally. That is kind of what I was trying to point out.
The Holy Ghost thankfully knows more than us all, and like you suggested on Tim’s post it can only be known by revelation.
In my opinoin a just judge will always retain in remembrance that he/she knows nothing of themselves. Despite all worldly intelligence, and even evidence, a sure knowledge can only come from above.
I do not think it is ever prudent to think whether another human being ever knows more or less than me, because even if they know much more, their knowledge can not be known by me unless God gives me the same knowledge by revelation. Should I simply trust in another man who may or may not have more knowledge on any given subject, would be practicing idolatry to whatever degree of trust I placed in that person.
That being said, I believe we ought to be open to the possibility of the spirit working through any other human being, despite their level of learning or credentials, and allow God to teach us at any and every opportunity.

  12. Subsequent equals following after. Ha ha I have probably used that wrong before thank you! No time traveling going on here. Not that I don’t believe in it : )

  13. Mc2dd

Thanks for your comment. I agree that children are innocent from their birth. As far as being filled with light though you would definitely have to explain what you mean. Are you talking about them as a spirit or their body because those are two different things.
Remember that body which is full of light comprehendeth all things? I believe that scripture to be true and I do not know any children that comprehend all things. When the angels came and encircled the children with fire in 3rd nephi I believe their bodies were being filled with light and they spoke forth marvelous words, too great to be written. They had to be acted upon from above to be filled with light.
I wholeheartedly agree that satan cannot take light from their spirits until they reach the years of accountability. When each of is becomes able to sin then our very spirit can decrease in light and glory and if we allow the flesh to completely take over our spirit will turn into darkness.
Although children are innocent each person actually brings a different amount of light into this life, depending in what has gone on before. Many children are afflicted with disease and illness and all manner of hardships because of the evils and corruption of the flesh, this says nothing of their spirits. Children do not come into this world with their bodies sanctified. The very earth is full of this evil and our body comes from the earth, that is why it will be so glorious when the earth is baptized by the Holy Ghost not too long from now.

    1. Minority,
So how did you come up with and why did you chose the title of this posting?
And what is it supposed to mean? Briefly please.

      1. I see where you are going. It was just a play on words and not scripture and everyone knew what it meant. We are not our bodies.
It should have more appropriately been titled, “let’s get the hell out of our bodies”. Yes that would have been much better and I apologize everyone for creating an opportunity for the lawyers to jump all over.
