Kings of Righteousness

Isaac-Morley-FarmI propose that we ought to begin thinking of “Melchizedek” less as a name and more of a title that any of us can obtain. Though much of this may seem to refer only to males this also applies in every way to females. Melchizedek is from two words that can be spelled a lot of different ways (like just about every Hebrew word). The first word is Malki or Malkei, which means King or Kings, and the second is Tzedek, meaning justice or righteousness. It is my understanding that to become a Melchizedek, or a “High Priest,” is much more than most consider.

Tim recently made a comment that stuck with me wherein he said, “…we don’t pass this way but once. The course of the Lord is one eternal round. We have got to learn to become Gods ourselves. It is the doctrine of Eternal Lives. The only way off this merry-go-round is, in the immortal words of Jim Morrison, to “break on through to the other side.”

If we have to break away from this cycle I guess it might be of utmost importance that we learn HOW we actually do it. We must begin with the end in mind. The goal is redemption, and the means is faith in Jesus Christ. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. To have a goal of redemption, it might help us to understand exactly what redemption is. Before the fall, the bodies of our first parents were immune to death and disease, they were pure and spiritual and filled with light. The fall caused death and disease, sin and pain, and many other crappy conditions that come with a body of corruption. All of this must be overcome in order for redemption to occur.

MY TAKE ON WHAT IT MEANS TO HAVE OUR CALLING AND ELECTION MADE SURE

I wanted to define more clearly what I feel the Spirit has taught me concerning having one’s calling and election MADE SURE. When one receives the promise to his/her spirit by revelation that they will be exalted, this is SPIRITUALLY receiving a truth that is binding upon that individual. That person at some point will be exalted. I submit that many people have received this promise in mortality, but did not receive redemption IN THAT PARTICULAR LIFE, and had to (or have to still) come back to mortality to be redeemed. I believe some individuals who have overcome still continue to return for the sake of others and for faster progression. One reference in the scriptures I can think of is found in Hebrews 11:33 “and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection.” In Buddhism these would be called “Bodhisattvas.” My understanding by the spirit is these people are real. They willingly come back to this hell-hole over and over again and will until the earth itself is redeemed. Take a look again at Peter’s words about having one’s calling and election made sure.

2 Peter 1:17-19

17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.

19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

LITERALLY HEARING GOD’S VOICE

When they heard the voice from heaven they heard an audible voice in the physical realm. As I pointed out in a previous post if Jesus spoke to our elements physically THEY WOULD OBEY. If Jesus commanded you to be perfect in your physical presence, it would be done. Of course this would never happen if we did not desire it. My testimony is that this experience must happen to all of us in the flesh in order to “break free.” When Jesus appeared to the brother of Jared in the flesh He said this in Ether 3;

13 And when he had said these words, behold, the Lord showed himself unto him, and said: Because thou knowest these things ye are redeemed from the fall; therefore ye are brought back into my presence; therefore I show myself unto you.

My understanding was that it was at this moment that the brother of Jared became a Melchizedek, he became a holy man and a high priest unto God. Let me share a verse that I asked many people about and the understanding of it eluded me until recently. Alma 13-

1 And again, my brethren, I would cite your minds forward to the time when the Lord God gave these commandments unto his children; and I would that ye should remember that the Lord God ordained priests, after his holy order, which was after the order of his Son, to teach these things unto the people.

2 And those priests were ordained after the order of his Son, in a manner that thereby the people might know in what manner to look forward to his Son for redemption.

3 And this is the manner after which they were ordained—being called and prepared from the foundation of the world according to the foreknowledge of God, on account of their exceeding faith and good works; in the first place being left to choose good or evil; therefore they having chosen good, and exercising exceedingly great faith, are called with a holy calling, yea, with that holy calling which was prepared with, and according to, a preparatory redemption for such.

4 And thus they have been called to this holy calling on account of their faith, while others would reject the Spirit of God on account of the hardness of their hearts and blindness of their minds, while, if it had not been for this they might have had as great privilege as their brethren

Preparatory redemption means our bodies are sanctified by the Spirit of the Lord

This whole chapter is full of beautiful doctrine but I wanted to focus on what this “preparatory redemption” is all about. If we become high priests after the order of Melchizedek our bodies are redeemed from the fall. They are baptized, glorified, filled with (however you want to say it) the Spirit of the Lord or the Spirit of God. They become holy. This is having the word of prophecy and our calling and election MADE SURE. It is no longer just a promise by revelation, it is done. That is when we reach the stature of Christ. We receive His name and we are His, worlds without end. I propose this hasn’t happened in a long time. I believe Joseph and others had the promise that the higher priesthood would come, but they tried to jump the gun a bit in June 1831 in the Morley home. Let me share a little bit about what was recorded…

“Joseph put his hands on Harvey Whitlock and Ordained him to the high Priesthood he turned as black as Lyman was white his fingers was set like Claws he went round the Room and showed his hands and tried to speak his eyes was in the shape of Ovil Oes. [Spelling?] Hyrum Smith said Joseph that is not of God Joseph said do not speak against this I will not believe said Hyrum unless you inquire if God owns it Joseph bowed his head a short time got up and Commanded Satan to leave Harvey laying his hands upon his head at the same time.

At that very instant an Old man said to way two hundread and fourteen pounds sitting in the window turned a complete summersett in the house and came his back across a bench and lay helpless Joseph told Lyman to cast Satan out he did. The man’s name was Leman Copley formaly a Shaker The evil spirit left him and as quick as lightning Harvey Green fell bound and screamed like a Panther. Satan was cast out of him but imediately entered so I heared it continued all day and the greater part of the knight“. (Levi Handcock)

From Ezra Booth; “Another Elder, who had been ordained to the same office as Wight, at the bidding of Smith, stepped upon the floor. Then ensued a scene, of which you can form no adequate conception; and which, I would forbear relating, did not the truth require it.The Elder moved upon the floor, his legs inclining to a bend; one shoulder elevated above the other, upon which the head seemed disposed to recline, his arms partly extended; his hands partly clenched; his mouth partly open, and contracted in the shape of an italic O;

his eyes assumed a wild ferocious cast, and his whole appearance presented a frightful object to the view of the beholder.— “Speak, Brother Harvey” said Smith. But Harvey intimated by signs, that his power of articulation was in a state of suspense, and that he was unable to speak. Some conjectured that Harvey was possessed of the devil, but Smith said, “the Lord binds in order to set at liberty. “After different opinions had been given, and there had been much confusion, Smith learnt by the spirit, that Harvey was under a diabolical influence, and that Satan had bound him; and he commanded the unclean spirit to come out of him.

VERY ODD HAPPENINGS IN THE MORLEY HOME

There were some good things that were said to have happened. Lyman Wight (who by all accounts seemed to have the best experience) was said to have a vision of the Father and Son. Please consider though the account from Ezra Booth of Lyman’s experience which matches up with other accounts…

“Wight arose, and presented a pale countenance, a fierce look, with his arms extended, and his hands cramped back, the whole system agitated, and a very unpleasant object to look upon. He exhibited himself as an instance of the great power of God, and called upon those around him “if you want to see a sign, look at me.”

He then [189] stepped upon a bench, and declared with a loud voice, he saw the Savior: and thereby, for the time being, rescued Smith’s prophecy from merited contempt.—It, however, procured Wight the authority to ordain the rest. So said the spirit, and so said Smith. The spirit in Smith selected those to be ordained, and the spirit in Wight ordained them. But the spirit in Wight proved an erring dictator; so much so, that some of the candidates felt the weight of hands thrice, before the work was rightly done…”

I have shared a little bit about the evils of the flesh and casting them out of us so we can be filled with the Spirit of the Lord.  THESE PEOPLE WERE NOT READY!!! Please consider this. There is huge discrepancy in the accounts of when the Melchizedek Priesthood supposedly was restored. People consider the idea of Peter, James, and John restoring it but there are many inconsistencies with that tale, and the closest thing we truly have to God ordaining men to high priests by His own voice was in the Morley farm in 1831. The church has tried hard to cover up the records of this experience, not because they believe that was when the high priesthood was actually restored, but because the whole experience was quite frightening and disturbing. It was obvious Joseph Smith was confused at the spectacle just like everyone else.

FULNESS OF THE PRIESTHOOD YET TO BE RESTORED

The evils of the flesh reacted in these men and proved that their bodies were not sanctified to the necessary degree to become kings of righteousness at that time. Recently Denver has shared that Joseph Smith was ordained under the spirit of Elias. We learn from some of what Joseph Smith supposedly shared that John the Baptist conferred Joseph Smith with the Aaronic Priesthood and with the “spirit of Elias.” The Spirit has witnessed to me that this is true. I also have a witness that Elijah did not come to the Kirtland temple just as Denver has suggested, but think of what this means! Doctrine and Covenants 2

1 Behold, I will reveal unto you the Priesthood, by the hand of Elijah the prophet, before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.

2 And he shall plant in the hearts of the children the promises made to the fathers, and the hearts of the children shall turn to their fathers.

3 If it were not so, the whole earth would be utterly wasted at his coming.

I would go on but I want to finish a post without getting too lengthy for once. My understanding is the fullness of the priesthood has yet to be revealed to people of our time but that it will be very soon. Kings and Queens of Righteousness will obtain the name of Christ and walk the earth again. People will be blessed with the state of transfiguration just as the 12 disciples in 3rd Nephi were. Remember they all reached that state of a “preparatory redemption,” but only the three remained as translated beings. Please consider reading some of Moroni’s words in a new light. I absolutely loved Denver’s most recent blog post and agree wholeheartedly. I need to improve on some things he suggested.  I would recommend reading it if you haven’t. To Moroni’s words…

32 Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny ourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God.

33 And again, if ye by the grace of God are perfect in Christ, and deny not his power, then are ye sanctified in Christ by the grace of God, through the shedding of the blood of Christ, which is in the covenant of the Father unto the remission of your sins, that ye become holy, without spot.

Interesting notes from Wikipedia relating to the root word “tzedek;”

According to the Hasidic Tanya (based on passages in Tanach and the Talmud, and the tradition in Kabbalah), the true title of tzadik denotes a spiritual description of the soul. Its true meaning can only be applied to one who has completely sublimated their natural “animal” or “vital” soul inclinations into holiness, so that they experience only love and awe of God, without material temptations. Hence, a tzadik serves a “vehicle” or “merkavah” [?????] {Tanya ch.23} to God and has no ego or self-consciousness. Note, that a person cannot attain such a level, rather it is granted from on High (or born with, etc.)tanya ch.27. This select level elevates the “Intermediate” person (“Benoni“) into one who never sins in thought, speech or action.

Tzadik/Zadik/Sadiq [tsa?dik] (Hebrew?????, “righteous one”, pl. tzadikim [tsadi?kim] ?????? ?adiqim) is a title given to personalities in Jewish tradition considered righteous, such as Biblical figures and later spiritual masters. The root of the word ?adiq, is ?-d-q (??? tzedek), which means “justice” or “righteousness“, also the root of tzedakah (‘charity’, literally ‘righteousness’). The feminine term for a righteous person istzadeikas.

  1. I am almost finished with Quinn’s book. I still have a testimony that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon and was called to be the founding prophet of this generation. But, I wonder if, as Quinn relates, the acts and deeds of church leaders at that time to set up kingdoms and such, to be ordained as kings on this Earth, and to begin to agitate politically, were the straws that led to Joseph’s removal from the Earth. As noted above, Joseph went too far in trying to use power before understanding it. This is easily understandable as he was as human as the rest of us. But could it be that he brought his own martyrdom to pass by beginning to exercise a form of unrighteous dominion? Of course, my views are formed by my own experiences through scripture reading and temple attendance. But could Joseph (and the rest of us) really become kings and queens, priests and priestesses on this Earth? Maybe when the priesthood has been brought back by Elijah, if the MOO’s thoughts are true…Interesting stuff!

Again your comments surprise me. Shem means “name.” One title people often use for God is Ha Shem meaning “The Name.”
I don’t believe any of Noah’s sons was named Shem but it is symbolic. The people of Melchizedek in some traditions were called “the keepers of The Name.” The name of God that is. Once again going back to people receiving the name and becoming His. It is all over the scriptures but has been hidden from us in plain sight.
Great things are coming again and powers that have been lost will be had again. Thanks guys these are awesome comments.

  3. A good or bad surprise?

Whether Shem is symbolic of something else (which very well could be like Jacob/Israel, Abraham/Abram, etc…) I believe Shem was a person (at least a type of a really real person like you could also say Adam and Eve are types of all of us yet I believe there was an Adam and Eve).

    Elijah Talk Reconsidered -DS
“. “Now Melchizedek was a man of faith,” [by the way Melchizedek is a title; it’s a name-title. It is a compound of two words. One is “king” and one is “priest” and therefore in one sense it’s a name-title, and in another sense it’s a new name. It was not the birth name given to someone, rather it was a new name title given to Shem and fashioned after Christ. Because Christ is the great King and the great Priest who is the King of Kings and He is the Great High Priest. And so because Melchizedek is really a name-title that belongs to Christ, it began to be used as a substitute to prevent the frequent repetition of the “Son of God”. Therefore, when you talk about the Holy Priesthood the correct full name would be: The Holy Priesthood after the Order of the Son of God. But to prevent the too frequent repetition of that Melchizedek (a name-title for Christ), was used as a substitute.

But Melchizedek, that is, Shem grew up to become the one that received that name-title. He “was a man of faith, who wrought righteousness; and when a child he feared God, and stopped the mouths of lions, and quenched the violence of fire.” [This is Melchizedek as a child. This is Melchizedek doing something by faith.] “And thus having been approved of God, he was ordained.” [That is, ordination occurred after faith.]
    “-Orem Transcript on Priesthood

These are things I have come to that have been confirmed after running into these posts. Discusses better than I could why this to be the case. There are other references which I won’t post.

Names mean something like I think you were talking about. They are titles. When we receive a name it is my belief it is because we have fulfilled an assignment. Thus the scripture…

“Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names” (2 Phillipians 2:9) He received the greatest title of all.

    1. Yes I agree with almost all of that. My point was that we should not think of it only as the name of a person but rather a title/new name. Good to see denver has talked about this that is cool.
The one thing I do not agree with is that Melchizedek was THE NAME given but rather a title that is given to a person when the name of God is given. The person becomes a king of righteousness when they receive the new name.
I believe joseph knew a lot of this and wished it could have happened in his day. Think of the symbolism at the veil in the LDS temple and the “name” given there. Not the real name by a long shot, but it starts off by talking about health to our body, implying a physical change is given when the name is given and the person parts the veil to physically see The Lord. Also it is neat to think AFTER the man receives the name of God he can then part the veil of his wife’s glory and be sealed to her. Until then he is unworthy to become one with a daughter of God.
Since Melchizedek Jehovah has been given the higher name of Jesus Christ and therefore lifted all mankind with Him. It was not until Jesus received the new name of His Father and was glorified by Him that resurrection could occur and then He could glorify His name through us and all of us could overcome through faith and be resurrected. It is a continual cycle.
I agree Shem was a real person I just don’t believe Shem was his name but that is what has remained over the ages. Zadok is another name that stemmed from all of this. Good surprise!

Nate, these are things that the Lord has given me to understand to a small degree, not through the powerful revelatory means through which you seem to receive knowledge, but more through some kind of slow osmosis. 🙂 Can you tell I’m jealous? Let’s call it holy envy. But reading your words here today feels like opening a floodgate of truth. What you are talking about here describes the state of those who Isaiah calls the “Kings and Queen’s of the gentiles” who in gathering the tribes of Israel will become their nursing fathers and nursing mothers. These are the translated 144,000 of the book of Revelation, the servants called to gather Israel in Jacob 5. They are called saviors on mount Zion by Obadiah. One really interesting thing that Isaiah does is that he calls the servant who gathers the other servants “my rightousness” and throughout the book the servant becomes synonymous with the term rightousness, and by extension this also applies to the other servants. They are also referred to as kings and queens as I have pointed out. So to Isaiah they are “The Kings and Queens of righteousness” as in the title of your the post. I love the way you connect this name to the fulness of the priesthood, which these servants will hold.

    1. Amen! Awesome you have put that together from Isaiah. Sounds like you have no reason to envy and I have no doubt you have gifts that I am lacking. Even thinking of the holy name of Jesus Christ… Jesus=savior and Christ=anointed one.
The scriptures often mention different Saviors and different anointed ones. Of course not to the same degree as The Christ but others that receive the name.

  5. Regarding calling and election. Since I was given those words some 3 months ago, I have found through much prayer and study, the event comes in different ways to different people and it does not “necessarily” mean all that is gained from having your calling and election happens or is gained in that very moment, but it can take additional work of the recipient to add upon it all those additional blessings you have discussed! And for many, maybe even most, these things must be accomplished before receiving the second comforter and those blessings, which can have crossover or be a combined experience. Just what l have discovered to this point.

  6. Isn’t it just like the Lord and his ways to have you get to what you think is a summit only to find you just made it to the bench of the foothills!

    1. Minority of One

Ha ha I know it. Even after we are redeemed to a “terrestrial” sphere, to use LDS terminology, we will then see the higher summit of resurrection to a “celestial” sphere and moving onward and upward. Always more keys, names, glories etc and I am sure we wouldn’t have it any other way.

  7. Nathan Shackelford

We typically seek titles (kind of the reverse of how it works), while God calls forth according to capacity and function. When God deepens an individuals understanding of their identity, typically there is an accompanying name (or function) bestowed. it is in direct correlation with function and spiritual capacity to manifest a heavenly reality on Earth.

Rather than seeking a title, seek to become the type of servant here on Earth that would necessitate the involvement and interaction of the Powers of Heaven, and thus allow for the endowment of such manifest or facilitate such service. Title without responsibility (the ability to respond) and priesthood keys = pride, vanity, priestcraft. And incongruencies always reveal themselves. Thankfully, because I have many of them!

So … what is this earthly invitation to experience a Heavenly reality?

Why receive a new name(s)? How is it done? What is the purpose?

What happens in the process of someone receiving a new name?

What would it be used for, or rather, what qualities and attributes would the experience of receiving a new name release?

And how in the process could one ignite, or release the full endowment of such a name or function, as an experience illuminated all along the continuum of experience from Heaven, to spirit, to soul, to body … and into mortality (just to use a few “labels”)?

Seeking to dig deeper! Keys are being discussed 🙂

  8. Melchizedek is only one of 3 high priest offices. It is the office held by one man on earth at a time from the direct line of Judah. I personally believe Jesus is that one man right now. The other two high priest offices are the Keys of Joseph and Levitical held by one man of the direct line of Levi. They are all coequal in the government of heaven on earth. So one man can’t hold all three. At least that is how the Old Testament seems to explain it. I don’t know why God would change it now anyway.

  9. Minority of One: I’ll give you credit for writing great fiction. As for gospel fact, you are sorely lacking: 1. there isn’t one shred of evidence in the standard works that supports reincarnation (or multiple mortal probations). There just isn’t any revelation on this through a prophet 2. when the Holy Spirit dwells within a person, this is the process of sanctification, not C&E. I have it by the Holy Spirit that you are wrong on each point. Best.

    1. Karl,

Your point #1 is better (and accurately) phrased as “MMP cannot be established from the scriptures.” The best that can be said from a pro-MMP perspective is that MMP does not contradict the scriptures. Belief in MMP does not arise from the scriptures.

  10. Ephesians 1:4, Jeremiah 1:4, Malachi 1:2-3, Romans 9:11-13, John 9:1, Matthew 11:13-14, Malachi 4:5, John1:21-27, Matthew 11:11-15, Matthew 17:1-13, Mark 10:29-30, Matthew 24:34

I find scriptural evidence for multiple lives in all of these verses and many more including many in the book of mormon. Do we think buddhists and Hindus, Native Americans and others have found spiritual growth and understanding and edification in their religions (which believe in reincarnation) for thousands of years for nothing? Really start studying past life regression, buddhism and hinduism, gnosticism and the doctrine of eternal lives before you judge something to be false just because guys in your little church say it is. There are plenty of statement even from lds church leaders that hint very strongly at reincarnation (meaning coming back as humans) Anyway I know the principle is real and that is enough for me. Haven’t mentioned the belief of reincarnation in judaism yet have I? I guess that get’s a little controversial for them now…

    Nathan,

I agree with the principle of what you are saying that we shouldn’t simply seek names without learning the responsibilities and functions of such thing. We better suggest then that people not take the sacrament at church until they understand what they are doing because the sacrament is telling God that we are indeed seeking a name and title. I don’t think God gives names until we are ready. There are many given as God brings us up.

    Elda,

Would you mind elaborating on your statement? I am intrigued. Are you referring to the titles of prophet, priest, and king or something else? I agree in different functions and titles within the high priesthood.

  11. Karl,

I thought I might address some other points. The great prophet Siddhartha Gautama as well as the prophet Ghandi and many prophets have spoken on MML. As far as sanctification goes I agree that the Holy Spirit has a lot to do with it. Every time the Spirit speaks to us it is refining and sanctifying. Layer by layer of chaff and dross is being purged as the Spirit of Christ grows in each of us until we enter Christ’s very presence, literally. So I don’t see where we conflict in this. I look at the gospel as a whole. Sanctification does not exist independently from having one’s calling and election made sure, and neither of these exists independently from the idea of multiple mortal lives, which is all connected to the atonement of Christ, which is connected to His previous lives as well. All truth is circumscribed into one great whole. We want to be given all of God’s revelations, not just what is approved by the LDS church.

Scriptural proof vs the Holy Spirit.

43 Behold, my servant shall deal prudently; he shall be exalted and extolled and be very high.

45 So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him, for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.

The Lord has a Servant in store. Kings shall shut their mouths at him. The Lord is referencing Isaiah, so who are these kings? They are the kings of rightousness. The (spiritual) kings (and queens) of the gentiles. Why do they shut their mouths at him? They don’t argue, they don’t have to prove that their traditions or interpretations of scripture are right. They know when they hear the words (eternal words) of Christ. They shut their mouths and listen. They consider things they have never heard before. They are told things they have never seen before. They don’t have to say prove this in the scriptures. There are new things coming. Will we be found quibbling about how it isn’t found in the less than a hundreth part of the words of Christ to the Nephites that we now have from the B of M? Or will we shut our mouths and consider the words, eternal words given to the servant. Their is only one way to know whether the servant, when he makes his appearance, speaks the words of Christ or not, and that will not be scriptural proof, nor following the arm of flesh, nor clinging fast to whatever your current paradigm might be. To those who rely on these for a guide, I’m sure, his words will sound like spiritual fantasy.

56 And at that day, when I shall come in my glory, shall the parable be fulfilled which I spake concerning the ten virgins.
57 For they that are wise and have received the truth, and have taken the Holy Spirit for their guide, and have not been deceived — verily I say unto you, they shall not be hewn down and cast into the fire, but shall abide the day.

Those who HAVE RECEIVED THE TRUTH – the words of Christ spoken by the servant – will have done so by taking the Holy Spirit for a guide. It is imperative that we be certain by the Holy Spirit of who we follow.

  12. MMP….? “Thanks, but no thanks. Once is enough for me.” ha ha

Years ago, I took a D&C class at BYU from Rodney Turner. The last day he hinted that MMP was a possibility. When he saw the faces of the class turn white… he said, (laughing) “Because man has made such a mess of things, perhaps God, in is mercy, will just throw up his hands and say, “Let’s do this again…. and get it right.”

After that day… I have been open to the doctrinal possibility, even though I would truly not want to do mortality again.

P.S. My sister is a Scientologist and they very few spiritual dogmas but teach:

    1. There is a God.

    2. We are very old beings and have lived before coming to this earth and bring those experiences with us.

    3. We are spiritual beings seeking to reach our full potential (spirit over body).

    4. They believe that our Spirits can over come the body and operate on this earth in unbelievable ways. They call one who has reach this level of development an “Operating Thetan”. (Thetan: meaning, immortal spirit being.)

    5. We will incarnate into another physical body after we leave this earth for further advancement.

Actually, I have witness remarkable people who have reached the Operating Thetan level. Amazing people and doing amazing good things on this earth.

Surely, MMP is something to ponder.

    1. Kathryn thank you for this comment. I know little of Scientology but what you described is interesting.
Also something you said I think is very important. A lot of people I have talked to say that the doctrine of MML causes people to think they do not need to strive as much because they could just come back and try again.
I find like you that those who truly consider the doctrine will prove just the opposite. Who would want to come back save to help others. The doctrine I believe will bring people to cry out to God for grace and help to overcome here and now in this lifetime more than the doctrine of only one earthly probation would. Many think enduring to the end means we do not need to have our calling and election made sure or enter the Lords presence in this life because we can do it in the spirit world and not worry about coming back here. This creates the “all is well” attitude way more than any type of reincarnation would in my opinion.

  13. Nate,

I understand the sacrament as a individual looking to become their spiritual self litterally rather than looking to receive a new name or title from God. I look at it as litterally changing our DNA from who we are physically to who we are spiritually. Looking to christ to overcome our flesh and blood, acknowledging that we can’t overcome the flesh without the seed of Christ being watered and nourished with the bread and water.
